Every Woman Every Child

July 27, 2017

KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 (Bernama) -- Malaysia has been given the privilege to be part of the "Every Woman Every Child China Partnership Network Life Regenerative Action Programme" with the launching of the initiative by MEBO International today.
More than 200 guests witnessed the historical moment which was officiated by Y.Bhg. Dato’ Hajah Mariam Mas Bt Yacob, Chairman of National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
Also present were Ms Ma Jia, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of China in Malaysia, Mr. Zhang Heqiang, Director General, Department of American & Oceanian Affairs, Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Mr. Kevin P. Xu, Chairman of MEBO International, Y.Bhg. Dato’ Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, President of Malaysia-China Friendship Association, and Dr. Noor Haliza Yusoff, Senior Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
The Every Woman Every Child initiative was launched by the former United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in 2010, with the aim of leveraging the collective strengths of government institutions, corporations and civil society members to forge cross-sector cross-industry partnerships to support development strategies for women’s and children’s health in all countries.
In May 2016, MEBO International joined Every Woman Every Child China Partnership Network and launched its action plan for supporting medical assistance in Asia and Africa.
MEBO International, which is well-known as the birthplace of human body regenerative medicine, currently holds more than 40 patents in various countries and regions, such as China, America, Europe and Japan, including patents for regenerating core human organs.
In his remarks at the launching, MEBO International Chairman Mr. Kevin P. Xu said the company had launched a preliminary five-year plan from 2016 to 2020, namedEvery Woman Every Child Life Regenerative Action, with the goal of saving 2,000 patients in need.
"It is my sincere hope that the historical launching of the ‘Every Woman Every Child Life Regenerative Action’ here today will pave way for medical personnel from both China and Malaysia to build up a dedicated team to take care about 1,000 patients suffering from burns, wounds and ulcers," said Mr Xu.
At the launching, Mr. Xu also announced that MEBO International will donate 5,000 tubes of MEBO ointment to Malaysia this year, and 10,000 tubes in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
Statistically, 265,000 people, the majority of which are from low and middle income countries, die each year of burns. Burns ranks as the 11th major cause of death for children aged 1-9.
Reducing the global disability and mortality rates of women and children with burns is of great importance to accomplishing the Every Woman Every Child Initiative, said Mr. Xu.
MEBO International began its business venture in Malaysia in 2009 with its first product in the local market through distributor, Triniare Sdn Bhd, and currently its products are available in more than a dozen hospitals throughout the country.
